Leslie C. Davis is the President and Chief Executive Officer of UPMC, with over 30 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in operations and business and service development. She holds a degree from the University of South Florida and a Master of Education from Harvard University. Davis began her career at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and spent 13 years at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in various roles, including vice president of clinical affiliations and ambulatory programs. She also held leadership positions at Presbyterian Medical Center and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and served as chief marketing and planning officer at Penn Medicine. Before joining UPMC, she was president of Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. Davis joined UPMC in 2004, serving as president of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital from 2004 to 2018 and concurrently as senior vice president and chief operating officer of the Health Services Division from 2014 to 2023. Timothy R. Billiar, MD, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at UPMC. He also holds the position of George Vance Foster Professor and Chair in the Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, a role he has held since 1999. Dr. Billiar earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at the University of Minnesota and the University of Pittsburgh. His work focuses on clinical and research advancements, particularly in the areas of immune response to injury and shock, liver disease, and innate immunity. Alison V. Beam is the Senior Vice President and Chief Government Affairs Officer at UPMC. In this role, she is responsible for leading UPMC's government relations efforts at local, state, federal, and international levels, as well as directing policy and charitable giving. Prior to joining UPMC in February 2022, Beam served as the acting secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health in 2021. During her time as acting secretary, she was involved in strengthening the state's COVID-19 vaccination program and managing federal stimulus investments for the Department of Health and other state agencies. Jeanne M. Cunicelli is the Executive Vice President at UPMC and President of UPMC Enterprises. She is a seasoned venture capitalist with over two decades of experience in the life sciences industry. Before joining UPMC in 2017, where she initially led the Translational Sciences focus area, Cunicelli was a managing director at Bay City Capital in San Francisco. She was appointed President of UPMC Enterprises in January 2021. At UPMC Enterprises, which serves as the venture capital, commercialization, and innovation arm of UPMC, Cunicelli is responsible for advancing UPMC's mission to enhance the quality, efficiency, and patient experience through investments and the implementation of new technology solutions. John L. Galley is the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at UPMC. He also serves as chairman of the board of directors for EBenefits Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of UPMC. Galley possesses a diverse background, having worked in strategic initiatives within corporate human resources and finance in the steel, retail, global technology, and health care sectors, with experience in insourcing and outsourcing solutions. Academically, Galley holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in accounting from Duquesne University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. Fred M. Hargett joined UPMC in October 2023 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this role, he served for 15 years as Executive Vice President and CFO at Novant Health, a non-profit integrated health system based in Winston-Salem, N.C. During his tenure at Novant Health, the organization grew significantly. Before becoming CFO at Novant Health, Hargett spent five years in roles including financial planner and analyst, and executive vice president of finance. He also spent over seven years at Ernst & Young as a growth strategy advisor to health systems. Hargett is a native of Charlotte, N.C. He earned undergraduate degrees in public health and business administration, and a Master's degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mary Beth Jenkins serves as the executive vice president of UPMC, president of the UPMC Insurance Services Division, and president and CEO of UPMC Health Plan. [3] Under her leadership, UPMC Health Plan is uniquely positioned in the health care marketplace to provide quality, choice, access, service, and value to its members, being the second largest provider-sponsored insurer in the nation—serving over 4 million members and recognized among the top-quality plans nationwide. [3] Ms. Jenkins has held multiple progressive roles at UPMC Health Plan. [3] Jenkins has served in numerous ascending roles at UPMC Health Plan since 1998, and in 2023, when Holder's pending retirement was announced, she was additionally appointed as executive vice president and chief operating officer, UPMC Insurance Services Division. [8, 12] She earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Slippery Rock University and her master's degree in business administration from Duquesne University. Dr. Oscar C. Marroquin is an Executive Vice President at UPMC and President of the UPMC Physician Services Division, a role in which he oversees over 5,000 employed physicians and staff. He also serves as President of the University of Pittsburgh Physicians. Additionally, he is UPMC's chief health care data and analytics officer, leading a team focused on using data to measure and predict clinical outcomes. Dr. Marroquin is a practicing cardiologist at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute, with clinical and research interests in interventional cardiology and heart disease in women. He is also a professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and holds secondary appointments in Epidemiology and Clinical and Translational Sciences. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala and completed his internal medicine residency at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He furthered his training with fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he also obtained a certificate in clinical research. Dr. Marroquin has over 25 years of experience in the medical field and is affiliated with UPMC Presbyterian. Edward W. McCallister is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at UPMC. He assumed this role in 2014. With over 30 years of experience in the technology and information services industry, he leads a team of more than 2,000 professionals in the Information Services Division. McCallister is responsible for the technology strategy and infrastructure supporting UPMC's clinical care, insurance services, international and commercial operations, and research. Prior to his current position, he spent 15 years in UPMC's Insurance Services Division, serving as a director, then vice president, and CIO. In that role, he contributed to building systems for UPMC Health Plan and led the development of the original population health platform used by Evolent Health. Joel Nelson, MD, serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer at UPMC, where he is involved in quality initiatives, service line development, and growth strategies. He also holds the position of President of UPMC International, leading the expansion of UPMC's medical services globally. Dr. Nelson was the Frederic N. Schwentker Professor and chair of the Department of Urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine for over 25 years, from 1999 to 2024. He previously served as senior vice president and chief medical officer of UPMC International starting in 2021, and as senior medical director of the University of Pittsburgh Physicians and chief clinical officer of the Health Services Division at UPMC. Mark L. Tamburri is the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at UPMC. Before his current role, he served as UPMC's associate chief legal officer and senior vice president of litigation and risk management, where he managed litigation-related matters, oversaw risk management and UPMC's Disabilities Resources Center, and advised senior leadership. A native of western Pennsylvania, Tamburri graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University and earned his Juris Doctorate cum laude from Harvard Law School. Donald Yealy, MD, serves as UPMC's Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of the Health Services Division. In these roles, he supports the vice presidents of medical affairs at UPMC hospitals and the medical staffs of 40 hospitals across Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland. Dr. Yealy is also the Chair and Distinguished Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He oversees the training of emergency medicine residents and fellows, acute care research, and care delivered at numerous emergency departments and urgent care centers. He returned to Pittsburgh in 1993 and held various leadership positions in emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC before becoming Chair of Emergency Medicine in 2009. Dr. Yealy's work has significantly influenced clinical care in life-threatening conditions, with his publications guiding national recommendations. He is a prolific author and editor in the field of emergency medicine and has received numerous awards and recognitions, including election to the National Academy of Medicine. He also played a key role in UPMC's COVID-19 response efforts.
Joel P. Yuhas serves as the Executive Vice President at UPMC and President of the UPMC Hospitals, Health Services Division, a role he assumed in March 2023.
