Sutter Health broke ground on a new care complex in Folsom, California, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. This three-story facility, costing $145 million and spanning 106,500 square feet, will be located at East Bidwell Street and Iron Point Road. It is scheduled to open in the fall of 2027 and will offer a range of primary and specialty care services. The complex was initially announced in January 2024. An outpatient surgery center is expected to be a key part of the new facility, where both specialty physicians and general surgeons will perform same-day procedures. The location near Highway 50 is intended to improve healthcare access for patients in rural communities in and around El Dorado County. Upon opening, the facility is expected to house 27 new physicians and relocate four existing ones, covering areas such as heart and vascular, dermatology, endocrinology, ENT, gastroenterology, imaging, lab, neuroscience, women's health, cancer, orthopedics, pain management, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and urology. This project is part of Sutter Health's broader expansion strategy, which includes opening numerous care sites across California in the coming years, with plans for 23 new sites in 2025 and another 23 in 2026. Sutter Health is also expanding access in Elk Grove, Roseville, and the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento. [8]

The Midtown Association announced programming for Sutter Health's Midtown Second Saturday and The Sunday Following events scheduled for June 14-15, 2025. Sutter Health is presenting the district-wide programming for Midtown Second Saturday. The events, expected to attract over 12,000 visitors monthly, begin with the Midtown Farmers Market and continue into the evening with various activations. The programming on Saturday, June 14, includes art experiences at the Midtown Farmers Market with giveaways and children's activities, as well as an Art Walk featuring local artists and galleries with a "Pride in Art" theme. Specific locations like The Press at Midtown Quarter Apartments and Lavender Library will host art displays and activities. The weekend includes an all-day and evening celebration of arts, music, dance, theatre, and culinary offerings at various Midtown venues. [15]
