As President and Chief Executive Officer, Laura S. Kaiser leads SSM Health, a $10.5 billion Catholic, not-for-profit, integrated health system serving communities across the Midwest. [6] Headquartered in St. Louis, SSM Health includes hospitals, physician offices, outpatient and virtual care services, senior care facilities, comprehensive home care and hospice services, a pharmacy benefit company, a health insurance company and an accountable care organization. [6] Ms. Kaiser previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City, Utah, and held senior leadership roles at Ascension Health. [6] She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri, and Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Administration degrees from Saint Louis University. As Chief Operating Officer, Steve Smoot oversees all of SSM Health's hospital, medical group and other major business operations across Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. [2] He has more than 25 years of health care industry experience and a strong track record of success in strategy, operational transformation, physician partnership, philanthropy and community service. [2] He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a recipient of the ACHE Regents Award in both Montana and Utah. [2] Steve Smoot is based in Provo, Utah, and has experience at Utah Valley Specialty Hospital, and previously served as Regional VP South Region at Intermountain Healthcare. [7] He studied at Brigham Young University (BYU) and Weber State University. [7]
Kevin Smith has been named CFO of SSM Health, succeeding Randy Combs. [11] Mr. Smith most recently served as CFO of Annapolis, Md.-based Luminis Health. [11]
John Nguyen, chief strategy officer of SSM Health, transitioned to the newly created role of chief administrative officer. [11] He will have accountability for advocacy, governance, marketing and communications and philanthropy efforts. [11] John started at SSM Health in June of 2018. [1]

Douglas Long is the General Counsel at SSM Health, a position he has held since June 2017. His expertise lies in corporate and tax law, with a particular focus on Catholic health care, hospital and physician transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining SSM Health, Mr. Long was an Attorney at Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman. He is an alumnus of Indiana University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree, and Harvard University, where he obtained his Juris Doctor. Mr. Long is admitted to practice law in Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois, as well as before the United States Tax Court and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also contributed to legal scholarship with articles published in various journals. Additionally, Douglas Long holds the title of Secretary at SSM Health Care of Wisconsin Inc.

Tom Langston served as the Senior Vice President - Chief Information Officer at SSM Health Care. His career at SSM Health Care and its predecessor spanned over three decades, beginning in 1981. For the first 20 years, he worked in human resources, holding positions as manager and corporate director of employee benefits and services. He transitioned to health IT in 2001, becoming president and CIO of the SSM Information Center (now Integrated Health Technologies). He was promoted to system VP and CIO in 2004 and Senior VP and CIO in 2009. Langston was involved in the implementation of a comprehensive electronic health-record system across SSM hospitals. He held a B.S. in Business from UMSL and an MBA in Finance from SLU. Tom Langston retired from SSM Health Care effective July 3, 2014.
