Damon Harbison became President of both SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon in May 2023. Since joining SSM Health in 2010, Harbison has advanced in several leadership growth opportunities and has led the Rural Health Network for the past three years. He is also involved in numerous community and philanthropic boards and was recently elected to the Board of Trustees for the Illinois Health and Hospital Association.

Dr. Mohammad Haseeb is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. He completed his Fellowship Training at State University of New York Health Science Center, Brooklyn New York and his Residency Training at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He has performed more than 3000 Cardiac catheterization and related procedures. His practice includes Invasive Cardiology, Defibrillator, and Pacemaker implantation, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, and TEE. He has held leadership positions including Director Dept. of Cardiology and Cath Lab and President Medical staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon.

John Kohler

Regional Chief Medical Officer for the Southern Illinois Region

Dr. John Kohler joined SSM Health in Illinois in December 2021 as Regional Chief Medical Officer for the Southern Illinois Region. In this role, he is responsible for the overall direction and management of medical affairs for SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon and SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. He provides oversight for patient safety, clinical quality, regulatory and patient experience programs, and clinical initiatives in the region. Dr. Kohler earned his Medical Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
