Bobbie Byrne

EVP, Chief Information Officer

Physician with nearly 30 years of experience in health care and technology. [1] Before joining Advocate Aurora Health in 2017, she served in leadership roles at Edward Elmhurst Health, most recently as Chief Medical Officer and, before that, as Chief Information Officer. [1] A physician who is board-certified in pediatrics and clinical informatics, Bobbie began her career practicing pediatrics in both academic and community-based settings. Brad Clark

EVP, Chief Financial Officer

Brad Clark is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Advocate Health. He was promoted to this role, effective December 1, 2023, after serving as interim CFO since August 2023. Clark has over two decades of experience in healthcare financial management. His responsibilities at Advocate Health include overseeing revenue cycle management, financial planning, supply chain management, financial reporting, accounting, treasury, and managed health resources. He is part of Advocate Health's executive leadership team and reports directly to the CEOs. Before becoming CFO at Advocate Health, Clark held positions of increasing responsibility at Atrium Health and predecessor organizations for over 13 years. He served as senior vice president of financial planning and treasurer of Atrium Health. Prior to that, he was the executive vice president and CFO of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, where he oversaw all financial functions for the academic medical center and health system. He joined Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in 2002 and held various leadership roles in financial planning, revenue modeling, capital planning, management reporting, strategy, real estate finance, and treasury management. Clark holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Appalachian State University and an MBA from Wake Forest University.

Kinneil Coltman

DHA; EVP, Chief Consumer & Social Impact Officer

Kinneil Coltman, DHA, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Consumer & Social Impact Officer at Advocate Health, one of the largest non-profit health systems in the United States. She has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a significant focus on leading health equity and diversity initiatives. Before joining Advocate Health in 2016 (when it was Atrium Health), Dr. Coltman held dual appointments as Chief Diversity Officer for Greenville Health System (now Prisma Health) and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. At Atrium Health, she initially served as Chief Diversity Officer before becoming Senior Vice President and Chief Community & Social Impact Officer in 2019. In her current role at Advocate Health, Dr. Coltman is responsible for the organization's strategy to improve community well-being by enhancing healthcare access, addressing social determinants of health, and advancing health equity. Her areas of oversight include Community Health, Community Engagement & Corporate Responsibility, Government Affairs, Social Strategy & Impact, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Executive Communications, and the Advocate National Center for Health Equity. Dr. Coltman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, a Master's in Cross Cultural Studies from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, and a Doctorate of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. She was also a Fellow in the American Hospital Association's Cross-Cultural Leadership Fellowship. Her research interests lie in interventions promoting equity within healthcare delivery systems.

Brett J. Denton

EVP, Chief Legal Officer

Brett J. Denton is the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Advocate Health. He has nearly 30 years of legal experience, having represented Atrium Health (part of Advocate Health) since 1993 and joining the organization in 1999. In his role, he oversees the enterprise-wide legal and risk functions, including corporate compliance, privacy, internal audit, corporate risk management, corporate insurance, and enterprise risk management. Before becoming Chief Legal Officer, Denton held positions at Atrium Health as Senior Vice President and Regional Executive, managing regional hospitals and health networks, and as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. Prior to joining Atrium Health, he practiced law for six years with Robinson Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A. in Charlotte, focusing on business litigation. He earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Denton is also involved in the community, serving as treasurer for the Charlotte Arts and Sciences Council Board and having previously chaired the boards of Crisis Assistance Ministry and the Mecklenburg County Bar Fee Dispute Resolution Committee.

Gabrielle Finley-Hazle

Division President, Wisconsin

Gabrielle Finley-Hazle is the Division President, Wisconsin at Advocate Health, and also serves as the President of Aurora Health Care, which is part of Advocate Health. Aurora Health Care is the largest integrated health care system in Wisconsin and the state's largest private employer. In her role, she is responsible for the growth, development, and strategic direction of the Wisconsin market, overseeing 18 hospitals and 300 sites of care. Finley-Hazle has over 25 years of experience in executive positions within not-for-profit, faith-based, and investor-owned health care systems. Before joining Advocate Health in November 2023, she was most recently the market president and CEO for Dignity Health Arizona Central and West Valley Markets in the Southwest Division of CommonSpirit Health. During her time there, she focused on quality, patient safety, employee and physician engagement, patient experience, and financial stewardship. Prior to CommonSpirit Health, Finley-Hazle spent nine years with Tenet Healthcare Corporation in various executive roles, including CEO and market lead for St. Mary's Medical Center and the Palm Beach Children's Hospital, and CEO of Florida Medical Center. She also held administrative roles at Broward Health and served as CEO of a multi-specialty physician group. She began her healthcare career as a fellow at Carolinas HealthCare System (now Atrium Health). Finley-Hazle holds a Master's degree in Health Care Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Science, Human Biology, Health and Society from Cornell University. Finley-Hazle is recognized for her leadership and focus on improving patient outcomes, safety, and health equity. She has received numerous awards for her contributions to healthcare. She is also involved in various boards and organizations, including the Greater Milwaukee Committee, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, Milwaukee World Festival, and the United Way. She previously chaired the governing board of the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance.

Julie A. Freischlag

MD, FACS, FRCSEd(Hon), DFSVS, MAMSE; CEO and Chief Academic Officer, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Chief Academic Officer and EVP, Advocate Health

Julie A. Freischlag, MD, FACS, FRCSEd(Hon), DFSVS, MAMSE, is a distinguished vascular surgeon and leader in academic medicine. She currently holds multiple key roles, including chief executive officer and chief academic officer of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, chief academic officer and executive vice president of Advocate Health, and executive vice president for health affairs at Wake Forest University. Throughout her extensive career, Dr. Freischlag has held significant leadership positions such as the dean of Wake Forest University School of Medicine (2018-2023) and vice chancellor for Human Health Sciences and dean of the School of Medicine at UC Davis. She has over 15 years of experience leading education and training programs and more than 30 years leading patient care services as a chief of surgery or vascular surgery at nationally ranked hospitals, including serving as professor, chair of the surgery department, and surgeon-in-chief at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. A practicing vascular surgeon, Dr. Freischlag is an internationally recognized expert in treating thoracic outlet syndrome. Her national leadership roles include serving as the 2021-2022 President of the American College of Surgeons. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine (2015) and an inductee of the Academy of Master Surgeon Educators (2021). Dr. Freischlag earned her medical degree from Rush University and completed her surgical residency and vascular surgery fellowship at UCLA Medical Center. She is scheduled to retire at the end of 2025.

Ken D. Haynes

EVP, Chief Enterprise Services Officer

Ken D. Haynes is the Executive Vice President and Chief Enterprise Services Officer at Advocate Health. He has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, including integrated delivery systems, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, service line leadership, and post-acute care. Before his current role, Haynes was the lead for the Advocate Health Southeast Region. Prior to joining Atrium Health (which combined with Advocate Aurora Health to form Advocate Health) in 2017, he held executive positions at CHRISTUS Health Santa Rosa Health System, Saint Joseph Health System, St. Vincent Health System, and Baptist Memorial Health Care System. In his role as EVP, Chief Enterprise Services Officer, Haynes oversees various functions including Innovation & Commercialization, Ancillary & Support Services, Ambulatory, Strategic & Operational Consulting, and Business Development. He holds MSHA and MBA degrees and is a FACHE (Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives). He has also served on the boards of various healthcare and business organizations.

Nakesha Lopez

MBA; EVP, Chief People & Culture Officer

Nakesha Lopez, MBA, is the Executive Vice President and Chief People & Culture Officer at Advocate Health, joining the organization in March 2024. She is responsible for the strategic management and delivery of all people programs, policies, processes, and practices for Advocate Health. Lopez has over 20 years of experience in human resources across healthcare and financial services industries. Before her role at Advocate Health, she served as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Diversity Officer at Baylor Scott & White, where she oversaw human capital planning, talent management, total rewards, and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies. Prior to that, Lopez was the vice president of human resources at Barclays Capital, having joined from Lehman Brothers during their acquisition. Lopez holds a Bachelor's degree in sociology from Hunter College and a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix. Her career in HR began around 2002, with early roles at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Lehman Brothers.

Carol A. Lovin

MHSA, MN; EVP, Chief of Staff and Chief Integration Officer

Carol A. Lovin, MHSA, MN, is the Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff, and Chief Integration Officer at Advocate Health. She has over 30 years of experience in healthcare strategy, business development, integration, innovation, communications, and marketing. Lovin joined Atrium Health (one of the legacy organizations of Advocate Health) in 2007. Prior to her current role at Advocate Health, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Atrium Health, where she was responsible for strategy, business development, innovation, corporate communications, marketing, external affairs, and community engagement. Her experience also includes serving as president of the Carolinas HealthCare System Management Company and leading strategic planning, marketing, and business development at NorthEast Medical Center. Lovin holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master's degree in Nursing from the University of Washington, as well as a Master's degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan. She initially pursued nursing due to a desire to make a difference in lives, inspired by an aunt who was a missionary nurse. This clinical background continues to influence her leadership style.

Dia Nichols

Division President, Illinois

Dia Nichols is the Division President, Illinois at Advocate Health, and also serves as President of Advocate Health Care, overseeing 11 hospitals and over 200 sites of care in Illinois. He previously held the role of President of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and the Central Chicagoland Area for Advocate Health Care. Before joining Advocate Health, Nichols was President and CEO of AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He spent 18 years in various leadership roles at HCA Healthcare, including CEO, COO, and market lead executive. Nichols holds a graduate degree in health administration from Indiana University and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is recognized for his leadership and commitment to addressing health inequities and advancing diversity and inclusion in healthcare.

Scott Rissmiller

MD; EVP, Chief Clinical Officer

Scott Rissmiller, MD, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for Advocate Health, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the U.S.. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Georgia and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia. With over 25 years of experience in clinical leadership, quality and safety, virtual care, and care redesign, Dr. Rissmiller joined the organization in 1997 for his residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He is a board-certified internist and has served as a hospitalist, leading the creation and serving as president of the Carolinas Hospitalist Group. Prior to his current role at Advocate Health, he was the enterprise executive vice president and chief physician executive for Atrium Health, where he was recognized for his leadership in telemedicine, including the creation of a virtual hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also played a key role in leading COVID-19 vaccination efforts. Dr. Rissmiller has been named one of Modern Healthcare's Top 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives. He also serves on the boards of several organizations, including NC MedAssist, Atrium Health At Home Charlotte, and Riley's Catch.

Shoeb J. Sitafalwalla

MD; EVP, Chief Strategy Officer

Shoeb J. Sitafalwalla, MD, is the EVP, Chief Strategy Officer at Advocate Health. He is a board-certified cardiologist with 15 years of experience in clinical medicine, operations, population health, and health equity. Dr. Sitafalwalla has been with the Advocate Health Care system since starting his residency training in 2007. Prior to his current role, he served as Chief Medical Officer at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and Medical Director of the South Asian Cardiovascular Center, which he also founded to provide culturally competent cardiac care. He also held roles including clinical lead for mHealth and served on the Quality Improvement and Clinical Integration Committee for Advocate Physician Partners. An engineer by background as well as a practicing cardiologist, he has published research on health access and data analytics. Dr. Sitafalwalla earned a bachelor's degree in bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular fellowship at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. He is also involved in his faith community and volunteers in public relations activities to build bridges with other faith communities.
