Serves as the executive leader of Skilled Nursing Facility Services, Home Medical Equipment & Infusion Pharmacy, Supportive Care, and the Centers of Expertise for Home Care & Rehabilitation.
Served as President of OSF Home Care and Rehabilitation Services since 2020. Joined OSF HealthCare in 2007 as a physical therapist. Served in different leadership positions for the OSF Eastern Region before moving into a Ministry leadership role in 2015. Oversees home health, hospice, home infusion pharmacy, home medical equipment, post-acute skilled nursing facility practices, outpatient palliative care, and all therapy/rehabilitation services.

Sarah Overton is the Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President of Clinical Services at OSF Healthcare, responsible for nursing across all multi-specialty settings and service regions, as well as strategic initiatives for clinical practice consistency. She also holds the position of Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President of Ambulatory Nursing, OSF Multispecialty Services, overseeing nursing operations for ambulatory clinics in central Illinois and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the OSF HealthCare Cardiovascular Institute, and the Illinois Neurological Institute. With 16 years of experience as a nurse and 15 years at OSF Healthcare, Overton has progressed through various roles, including site manager and regional manager, before becoming Clinical Professional Practice Manager of Primary Care for all OSF Medical Group offices. Her educational background includes an RN-ADN from Eastern Iowa Community College, a BSN from UIC, and a master's from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Peoria. She is certified as an Anticoagulation Care Provider, Patient Centered Medical Home Coordinator, and in Rapid Improvement Model (RIM) Project Performance Improvement. Overton also contributes to community health through volunteer work and mentors new RNs as a Nursing Lead Program Coach. She is also an Advance Care Planning Facilitator.
Been with the health system since 1988. Currently director of oncology services for OSF HealthCare, as well as medical director of Radiation Oncology at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Will lead the development and implementation of research, innovation, clinical and academic initiatives for the Cancer Institute.
