Anne Klibanski, MD

President and Chief Executive Officer

Anne Klibanski, MD, is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Mass General Brigham. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude in literature from Barnard College and her M.D. from New York University Medical Center. Dr. Klibanski is the Laurie Carrol Guthart Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Prior to her current role, she served as the healthcare system's Chief Academic Officer from 2012 to 2019 and as Chief of Neuroendocrine at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is internationally recognized for her research in neuroendocrine disorders and pituitary tumors. She was appointed President and CEO in June 2019, becoming the first woman to hold this position at Mass General Brigham (formerly Partners HealthCare).

Margaret S. Norton

Chief of Staff

Margaret S. Norton is the Chief of Staff at Mass General Brigham, a role she has held since 2017. In this capacity, she is responsible for coordinating activities related to the CEO to support Mass General Brigham's objectives, including providing research, strategic counsel, and editorial support. She also collaborates closely with Mass General Brigham leadership and external stakeholders. Before her role at Mass General Brigham, Norton was the Director of Corporate Communications at Eversource (previously NSTAR) for nearly 20 years. Norton earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Political Science from Emmanuel College and a Master of Science in Communications Management from Simmons College. She also serves on the board of directors for Camp Harbor View and has held positions on the Salvation Army Greater Boston Advisory Board, A Better City, and the board of trustees at Notre Dame Academy Hingham.

Paul Anderson, MD, PhD

Chief Academic Officer

Paul Anderson, MD, PhD, serves as the Chief Academic Officer at Mass General Brigham. He is also the K. Frank Austen Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Academic Dean for Mass General Brigham at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Anderson earned his MD and PhD in Microbiology from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Rheumatology at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Anderson established his research laboratory at Brigham and Women's Hospital in 1990, focusing on the post-transcriptional control of gene expression during stress and inflammatory responses. He previously served as the Associate Chief of the Division of Rheumatology, Inflammation, and Immunity and was appointed Chief Academic Officer at Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2015. He assumed the role of Chief Academic Officer for Mass General Brigham on an interim basis in January 2023 and was permanently appointed in October 2023. In his current role, he oversees Mass General Brigham's research and teaching enterprise, which includes managing a significant research budget and key system-wide departments. He has an internationally recognized reputation for his research and has authored or co-authored over 175 publications.

Mark Bohen

Chief Marketing and Communications Officer

Mark Bohen is the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Mass General Brigham, a role he has held since September 2020. In this position, he is responsible for leading the marketing and communications efforts to highlight the system's research, clinical care, innovations, and education on a national and global scale, while also integrating classical marketing principles and data analysis. Before joining Mass General Brigham, Bohen served as the chief marketing and communications officer at Beaumont Health in Michigan for four years, where he focused on improving the system's reputation and developing marketing strategies. He also has prior experience as a Senior Vice President of Marketing and Innovation at Assurant, Inc., and spent over ten years in the consumer-packaged goods industry, including working on notable brands at Nabisco. He earned a BA in Marketing from Syracuse University and an MBA from Duke University.

O'Neil Britton, MD

Chief Integration Officer Executive Vice President

O'Neil Britton, MD, is the Chief Integration Officer and Executive Vice President at Mass General Brigham. Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, he moved to New York as a teenager and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from City College of New York before attending Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. His extensive career in healthcare administration spans over 25 years within the Mass General Brigham system, starting with an internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He also completed the Deland Fellowship in healthcare management at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Britton has held numerous leadership roles, including Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Professional Services at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, and Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President at Massachusetts General Hospital. Notably, he served as Chief Health Information Officer for the system, where he led the significant systemwide implementation of Epic. Prior to his current position, he was the Senior Vice President of Operations and Associate Chief Operating Officer at Mass General Brigham from 2021 to 2023, playing a key role in designing and executing clinical integration strategy. In his role as Chief Integration Officer, Dr. Britton is responsible for leading system integration activities and advancing enterprise clinical services. He is recognized as a supportive, inclusive, and open-minded leader known for encouraging creative thinking.

David F.M. Brown, MD

President, Academic Medical Centers, Mass General Brigham

David F.M. Brown, MD, serves as the President, Academic Medical Centers, Mass General Brigham, overseeing both Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is also the Mass General Trustees Endowed Professor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Brown graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University in 1985 with a degree in Chemistry and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1989, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his medical training, including internship and residency, at Massachusetts General Hospital and holds board certifications in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. He joined the emergency medicine faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1992. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2013 to 2021. He also served as interim President and CEO of Cooley Dickinson Health Care in 2021 and as President of Massachusetts General Hospital from 2021 to 2024. His role expanded to President, Academic Medical Centers, Mass General Brigham in 2024. Dr. Brown is an accomplished physician, educator, and administrator, with expertise in cardiovascular emergencies. He has authored over 250 scientific papers, reviews, and chapters, and has written two textbooks. He was the founding editor-in-chief of *Scientific American: Emergency Medicine*. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and mentoring.

Chris Coburn

Chief Innovation Officer

Chris Coburn is the Chief Innovation Officer at Mass General Brigham. In this role, he is responsible for the worldwide commercial application of the capabilities and discoveries of Mass General Brigham's employees, including Harvard Medical School-appointed faculty. His team's work includes investing, company creation, innovation management, industry collaborations, and licensing. They also manage a venture fund. Before joining Mass General Brigham, Coburn was the founding director of Cleveland Clinic Innovations, where he worked for 13 years. During his time there, Cleveland Clinic spun off 57 companies that raised over $700 million in equity financing. His team at Cleveland Clinic also managed an innovation alliance network supporting technology commercialization for other healthcare systems. Prior to that, he was a Vice President at Battelle and served on the staff of Ohio Governor Richard Celeste. Coburn is also a member of multiple boards.

Niyum Gandhi

Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Niyum Gandhi is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Mass General Brigham. Prior to joining Mass General Brigham, he served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Population Health Officer at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York. In this role, he was responsible for financial operations and played a key part in building Mount Sinai's clinically integrated network and other population health initiatives. Before his tenure at Mount Sinai, Gandhi was a Partner in the Health and Life Sciences consulting practice at Oliver Wyman, where he focused on financial planning, value-based healthcare, and transformation strategies for various healthcare entities. Jane Moran

Chief Information and Digital Officer

Jane Moran is the Chief Information and Digital Officer at Mass General Brigham, a role she assumed in September 2021. In this position, she is responsible for the development, deployment, and efficient operation of technology across the organization, with a focus on accelerating the overall technology and digital strategy. Her work centers on delivering digital health capabilities, improving the equity and efficiency of healthcare delivery, and contributing to more personalized and precise medicine. Prior to joining Mass General Brigham, Moran spent nearly seven years as the Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Advisor at Unilever. Before her time at Unilever, she was the Group CIO at Thomson Reuters, where she held senior technology roles for about 15 years. Moran began her career in financial services as a programmer, building financial portfolio management and trading platforms. She also worked as an IT consultant for many years, implementing large-scale ERP and CRM platforms for Fortune 500 companies. Moran has over 25 years of experience in CIO/CTO roles. She was recognized as the first woman to top Computer Weekly's ranking of the 100 most influential people in technology. Moran is an active member of the global technology community and holds two non-executive director positions with JP Morgan, specifically with JP Morgan Securities PLC and JP Morgan Europe Limited. In 2024, she was appointed to Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey's AI Strategic Task Force. Although her background was primarily outside of healthcare, she has approached her role at Mass General Brigham with a perspective shaped by her personal experience as a patient. She is passionate about leveraging technology and digital innovation to improve patient care and health equity.

Laura S. Peabody

Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel

Laura S. Peabody is the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at Mass General Brigham. She graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a bachelor's degree and received her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law. Prior to joining Mass General Brigham in 2017, she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Northwell Health in New York for four years. Before her time at Northwell, she was the Chief Legal Officer for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, where her responsibilities included managing legal, internal audit, compliance, policy and government affairs, real estate, and the organization's Medicare strategy. She also chaired the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation board. Earlier in her career, she was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Inc., handling all legal matters related to corporate operations. She began her legal career as an Associate at law firms in Manhattan and Boston. Her current role at Mass General Brigham involves providing legal and strategic counsel and overseeing the Office of the General Counsel and the Office of Government Affairs. She manages a team specializing in various areas of healthcare law.

Tom Sequist, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Thomas Sequist, MD, MPH, is the Chief Medical Officer at Mass General Brigham. In this role, he is responsible for strategy, policy, and metrics related to patient experience, quality, safety, health equity, community health, pharmacy, and physician wellbeing. He is also a practicing general internist at Brigham and Women's Hospital and holds positions as a Professor of Medicine and Professor of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sequist's background includes prior leadership roles such as Chief Patient Experience and Equity Officer at Mass General Brigham and Chief Quality and Safety Officer at Partners HealthCare System. His research focuses on quality measurement and improvement, health care equity, patient and provider education, and the use of health information technology. He is a member of the Taos Pueblo tribe and has conducted health policy research to improve healthcare for Native American communities. He directs the Four Directions Summer Research Program and is the Medical Director of the Brigham and Women's Hospital Physician Outreach Program with the Indian Health Service. Dr. Sequist graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, received his MD from Harvard Medical School, and his MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Ron M. Walls

Chief Operating Officer

Ron M. Walls is the Chief Operating Officer at Mass General Brigham and the Neskey Family Professor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is an emergency medicine physician by training and previously served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Brigham Health from 2015. Prior to that, he chaired the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital for over twenty years, where he significantly grew the department and implemented operational and clinical innovations. Dr. Walls is known for his expertise in emergency airway management and has authored numerous publications and textbooks in the field. He earned his medical degree from the University of British Columbia and completed his emergency medicine residency at Denver General Hospital. Before his time at Brigham and Women's Hospital, he held faculty positions at George Washington University Medical Center and Vancouver General Hospital. In 2006, he became the first emergency physician to be named a Professor at Harvard Medical School.

Jeff A. Weiss

Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer

Jeff A. Weiss is the Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer at Mass General Brigham, a role he has held since 2018. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing strategy, system transformation, clinical partnerships, and diversified business functions. Before joining Mass General Brigham, Weiss served as the sixth president of Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, from 2016 to 2018. Prior to his time at Lesley University, he spent nearly 30 years in consulting. He was a co-founder and partner at Vantage Partners for almost 20 years, where he led the IT and Healthcare industry practices. His consulting work focused on assisting organizations with strategic partnerships, complex negotiations, strategy implementation, change management, innovation, and board governance. Earlier in his career, Weiss was a partner at Conflict Management, Inc. and helped establish the non-profit Conflict Management Group (now part of Mercy Corps), which works on peace-building globally. These organizations originated from the Harvard Negotiation Project, of which he was a member. Academically, Weiss has a strong background in negotiation and has taught at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business and the United States Military Academy at West Point for over a decade. He co-founded and co-directed the West Point Negotiation Project and continues to lecture annually at the Army War College. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. Weiss is also a published author and a frequent contributor to the Harvard Business Review, including authoring the "HBR Guide to Negotiating".
