Ambient AI technology deployed at The Permanente Medical Group, part of Kaiser Permanente, has saved nearly 16,000 hours in documentation time over a 15-month period (October 2023 to December 2024). Approximately 7,260 physicians utilized this technology, which transcribes medical visits and generates drafts of EHR notes, across about 2.5 million patient encounters. According to Vincent Liu, MD, chief data officer of the Permanente Medical Group, the technology successfully alleviates physician workloads and supports face-to-face interactions with patients. [4]
