Phoenix Children's and HonorHealth have announced a collaboration to expand access to neonatology care across Arizona. As part of this partnership, Phoenix Children's is now providing neonatologists to three HonorHealth medical centers. These include the Level III NICU at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center, as well as the Level II nurseries at HonorHealth Mountain Vista in Mesa and HonorHealth Sonoran Crossing in Phoenix. This collaboration will also allow HonorHealth patients to have access to consultations with over 75 pediatric subspecialties available at Phoenix Children's. This initiative increases the number of hospitals staffed by Phoenix Children's neonatologists to seven throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Qventus, a provider of AI-driven care operations automation software, released a report on health system Chief Information Officers' (CIOs) approaches to AI. The report references a case study with HonorHealth on how the health system improved patient flow using AI and automation. According to the case study, HonorHealth, which began its care operations automation journey in 2021, utilized Qventus' AI-powered Inpatient Solution to reduce length of stay, save over 50,000 excess days, and achieve $62 million in savings. The Qventus platform uses machine learning models to prioritize tasks, predict patient discharge dates, and identify barriers to timely discharge. HonorHealth also implemented the Qventus Perioperative Solution to optimize operating room utilization and scheduling, resulting in additional cases per month and increased annualized contribution margin.

HonorHealth Desert Mission is currently running a bottled water drive to help the vulnerable in the community stay safe during the summer heat. The goal is to raise funds to provide 50,000 bottles of water before the end of June. A generous donor is matching gifts, doubling the impact of contributions. Donations of sealed jugs or bottled water cases can also be dropped off at the Desert Mission Food Bank.

A patient with advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer, has been in remission for over a year following treatment in a clinical trial at HonorHealth Research Institute. The patient, Wayne Futch, was treated with an investigational novel conditionally activated IL-2 pro-drug, WTX-124, developed by Werewolf Therapeutics. Mr. Futch had previously undergone extensive radiation treatment that failed to eliminate the cancer. This successful outcome highlights the potential of new targeted immunotherapy approaches being investigated at HonorHealth Research Institute and offers hope for patients with limited treatment options for immunotherapy-refractory squamous cell carcinoma.
