Deborah Addo, MPH

Interim Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer

Provides oversight to the health system's hospitals, clinical service lines and acute care facilities to ensure their operational excellence. Has more than 30 years of leadership experience in health care operations and management. Previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Penn State Health, as well as interim president of the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Appointed interim chief executive officer on September 28, 2024. As interim CEO, maintains the system's focus on growth, development and overall performance, including its adult and pediatric acute care and specialty hospitals, as well as the continued expansion of Penn State Health Medical Group across core counties. Served as president and chief operating officer of the Hershey, Pennsylvania-based system since 2021 before filling the void left by Steve Massini.

Tom Stoessel, MBA

Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Transformation Officer

Responsible for the growth of the emerging Penn State Health system. Role is focused on the development and execution of the organization's comprehensive strategic plan, driving clinical program expansion and partnerships with regional community systems, physician practices and industry partners and payers. Has more than 25 years of leadership and executive management experience in the health care environment. Continues to oversee all system strategy work.

Kenneth E. Wood, DO, FACP, FCCP, FCCM

Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Provides oversight of clinical care standards, scope of practice, medical staff credentialing and overall quality, safety and value of care across the health system. A veteran health care administrator, educator and researcher, has three decades of clinical experience across diverse settings, ranging from community hospitals to large, integrated academic medical centers. Will oversee the Health System Operation Command Center to create consistencies for patient movement across Penn State Health. Will also be the point person to ensure collaborative work with Penn State College of Medicine to advance clinical research and help deliver its educational mission.
