The City of Knoxville has implemented changes to traffic operations near Covenant Health Park after reviewing data from initial events held at the multiuse stadium [9]. As a result, S. Central Street, between Jackson Avenue and Willow Avenue, will remain open to vehicular traffic on weeknights during events at Covenant Health Park, following a request from the Old City Merchants Group [9]. However, this block will still be closed to vehicles during events held on Fridays and Saturdays due to anticipated larger crowds [9]. Even when closed to cars, S. Central Street remains open to business patrons and pedestrians [9]. Traffic-control personnel will be stationed at the intersection of S. Central Street and Willow Avenue during events to assist pedestrians [9]. New stop signs have also been added to the intersection [9].

Covenant Health Park opened on April 15, bringing the Knoxville Smokies back to the city [17]. It has been a month since opening day for the Knoxville Smokies at their new home, Covenant Health Park [17]. The assistant general manager of marketing for the team, Aris Theofanopoulos, said years of planning have gone into the stadium and described it as a state-of-the-art facility capable of hosting all kinds of sports fans [17]. It includes features like the largest video board in all of Minor League Baseball and one of only four retractable mounds across the country [17]. Visit Knoxville tracked data using a program to see how many cell phones were in the area around the stadium during opening week and compared it to 2024 when the stadium was still being built [17]. The data revealed there was a rise in the median income value of the people who were in the area during that timeframe [17].

Two new restaurants are opening in the Beauford Delaney Building at Covenant Health Park [20]. T. Ralph's Burgers & Fries and Disco Chicken and Donuts are expected to open this fall, according to the owner of both businesses, Dustin Cochran [20]. Both businesses will move into a 3,238 square foot property at the south end of the building [20]. The restaurants will share a full-service bar and will be open year-round, seven days a week [20]. Randy Boyd, owner of the Knoxville Smokies, said that Covenant Health Park wanted to open new opportunities for local businesses and that the addition of T. Ralph's and Disco Chicken and Donuts fits the mission of supporting small businesses and offering visitors to the new stadium and surrounding plaza a variety of food and retail options to enjoy year-round [20].
