US Hospital EHR Market Share and Data Set
The Electronic Health Record (EHR), also known as the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), serves as the clinical foundation for every health system, and health systems, in turn, form the backbone of U.S. healthcare.
HealthLuminate has pioneered advanced AI-driven search tools and algorithms, complemented by meticulous human expert reviews, to accurately identify the electronic health record systems currently in use at more than 94.7% of short-term acute, non-government hospitals nationwide. Our identification rate increases to 98.7% among hospitals with over 100 beds. We provide a summary of these findings, including comprehensive data on every hospital EHR vendor across the United States.
Every hospital EHR implementation generates publicly accessible information, whether through press releases, patient portal logins, or job postings seeking specialized EHR expertise. To compile this research, our AI tools executed over 140,000 web searches, gathering tens of millions of data points. Collectively, these data points reveal a clear and detailed view of the EHR solutions employed by most health systems.
The complete dataset underpinning this analysis is available through HealthLuminate (see the vendor details section for example data). If your organization is interested in subscribing to this or other Health Information Technology (HIT) market share datasets, please Contact Us.
HealthLuminate is continually expanding its research and will release additional market share reports and accompanying datasets according to our release calendar.
