MedStar Health was recognized as the only acute care health system in the Mid-Atlantic region and one of only five internationally to earn the inaugural Recognition for Well-Being Excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) [19, 11, 1]. This global distinction highlights the effectiveness of MedStar Health's efforts to improve the well-being of nurses and other diverse teams [19]. LynnMarie Verzino, DNP, chief nursing officer and senior vice president for MedStar Health, expressed pride in receiving this recognition [19]. The ANCC uses evidence-based standards to evaluate and enhance well-being programs within healthcare organizations, and it also awards the Pathway to Excellence® designation and the Magnet® recognition [19].
