Brian Devine

Chief Financial Officer

Brian Devine is the Chief Financial Officer for Allegheny Health Network (AHN), a role he assumed in January 2024. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing AHN's financial performance, including accounting, revenue cycle operations, budget planning, and capital investments. Before becoming CFO at AHN, Devine served as CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance & Commercialization for enGen, a subsidiary of Highmark Health. His history with Highmark Health and its subsidiaries is extensive, including roles such as Vice President of Enterprise Financial Strategy, Planning and Analysis, Director of Transformation, and Vice President of Financial Operations and Clinical Transformation. He also previously served as Vice President of Finance for AHN from 2016 to 2018. Earlier in his career, Devine worked as a Manager of Operational Finance at RTI International Metals and started as an Audit Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Academically, Brian Devine holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the University of Pittsburgh.

Angela Costa, RN, BSN, MPM

Chief Nurse Executive

Angela Costa, RN, BSN, MPM, serves as the Chief Nurse Executive for Allegheny Health Network (AHN), a role she has held since early 2023, after serving as interim CNE. With over 30 years of her nursing career spent at AHN, starting at Allegheny General Hospital, she has held various roles including supervisor, manager, director, and VP positions at different AHN hospitals. Ms. Costa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duquesne University and a Master of Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Her clinical background encompasses trauma, critical care, and neurology/stroke. As Chief Nurse Executive, she is the advocate for AHN's 6,000 nurses and contributes to the executive leadership team. She has spearheaded initiatives focused on nurse recruitment and retention, improving the quality of nursing care, and developing flexible work arrangements like the "Work Your Way" program, which introduced a mobile internal nursing team and digital nursing roles. Additionally, Costa is committed to preventing workplace violence and promoting nurse well-being. She is actively involved in several organizations and boards, including the Allegheny Credit Union board, the Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania's Nurse Ambassador Advocacy Initiative, the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, Partner for Work, and Palladium's board of directors.
