Steven M. Fontaine

Chief Executive Officer

Joined Penn Highlands in 2014 as the System's first Chief Operating Officer before becoming the CEO in 2016. A 25-year veteran of the healthcare industry. Received his bachelor's degree in English from Clemson University and a master's degree in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is Chair of the Vizient Atlantic Executive Network and on the board of the Free Medical Clinic of DuBois.

Mark Norman

Chief Operating Officer

Appointed to the Board of Directors of the Hospital and Healthsystem of Pennsylvania (HAP). Brings 28 years of healthcare experience. Prior to joining Penn Highlands Healthcare in 2016, served as the CEO of Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, Miss. and Pioneer Community Hospital of Newton, in Newton, Miss. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Miss. and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Ala.

Christopher Kovski

Chief Human Resources Officer

Christopher Kovski is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Penn Highlands Healthcare. He has extensive experience in human resources and legal fields. Prior to his current role, he served as the System Director, Human Resources and Labor Relations at Penn Highlands Healthcare. Kovski's previous experience includes working as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Level Advisor at Graham Holdings Company | Graham Healthcare Group, where he was involved in M&A integration and joint venture planning. He also held the position of Vice President of Human Resources at UPMC Hamot (fka Hamot Medical Center), where he was responsible for rebuilding and restructuring the HR department and leading various HR functions like recruitment, employee relations, and learning/development. Additionally, he held HR leadership roles at PPG Industries | PGW Glass, Erie Insurance Group, and Blair Corporation. Before his career in HR, Kovski was a Partner at ELDERKIN LAW FIRM, specializing in complex litigations, arbitrations, and negotiations, and providing legal advice on personnel issues. Kovski holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree with a focus on Labor and Employment Law from Arizona State University (1995), a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Ohio University (2013), and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communications from Mercyhurst University. He was also pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, expected to be completed in 2022. He holds certifications including SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and SPHR.

Jill Muir

Chief Nursing Officer

Jill Muir, DNP, MS, RN, CCM, NE-BC is the Chief Nursing Officer at Penn Highlands Healthcare. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Aspen University, a Masters in Health Services Leadership from Saint Vincent College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Pittsburgh, and completed a nursing program at Conemaugh School of Nursing. Prior to her role at Penn Highlands Healthcare, Muir held various positions at Indiana Regional Medical Center, including Interim Director of Cardiac Neuro and Medical Supportive Care, Director of Critical Care, Emergency Services, Case Management, and Behavioral Health, and Director of Critical & Emergency Care, Case Management, and Behavioral Health. She also served as the Manager of a medical unit and worked as the Director of Case Management there. Her previous experience also includes working as the Manager of MA Disease Management at Highmark Health and as Chief Nursing Officer at Select Medical. Muir is certified as a Case Manager (CCM) and a Nurse Executive (NE-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has been involved in initiatives at Penn Highlands Healthcare related to nurse professional growth, shared decision-making, and achieving the Pathway to Excellence designation for Penn Highlands DuBois. She has also participated in discussions regarding tackling surgical backlogs.

Megan Bussard

Vice President, Quality And Safety

Megan Bussard is the Vice President, Quality And Safety at Penn Highlands Healthcare, a position she has held since January 2022. Prior to this role, she served as the Assistant Vice President of Physician Network at Penn Highlands Healthcare from January 2021 to February 2022 and as the Director of Value Based Healthcare from August 2012 to January 2021. She also has experience as an Adjunct Associate Professor at West Virginia University from July 2011 to June 2012. Dave Trudell serves as the System Director of Marketing, Communications, and Sales at Penn Highlands Healthcare. He has extensive experience in marketing, communications, and sales within the healthcare sector. He began his career at Centura Health, where he held various roles, including Manager of Marketing & Public Relations and Customer Service & Transcription Coordinator. Dave Trudell earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a focus on Marketing/Marketing Management from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Danyell L. Bundy

Executive Director

Danyell L. Bundy is the Executive Director for Fund Development at Penn Highlands Healthcare. She also holds the title of Director of Operations and Major Gifts, System Fund Development at Penn Highlands Healthcare. Her professional background includes serving as the Director of Branch Banking at The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton until April 2022. Before that, she was Vice President Business Banker and Vice President Treasury Management at the same bank from November 2019 to March 2020. Karin Pfingstler

Government Relations Director

Karin Pfingstler serves as the Government Relations Director at Penn Highlands Healthcare.
