LSU Health Shreveport celebrated its largest commencement in the school's history, with 242 graduates [8]. The School of Medicine successfully filled all 138 residency positions [8]. These new residents and fellows are set to begin their training in Shreveport in July, training at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport - Academic Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center, Monroe Medical Center, Rapides Medical Center, and other partner hospitals [8].

LSU Health Shreveport hosted the Inaugural Rasberry Lecture featuring Dr. [8, 17]. A new medical lecture series was launched at LSUHS, and supporters were honored during the event [17].

Ochsner LSU Health - Monroe Medical Center has been awarded an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group [11, 18]. This recognition signifies the medical center's commitment to patient safety, reflecting its efforts in reducing errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, while promoting a patient-first culture [11, 18]. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries [11]. The grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring [11].

LSUHS has been selected as a National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) Pilot Program site [8]. This program, authorized by Congress and led by the National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health (NCDMPH), aims to improve interoperability and expand capacity within the National Disaster Medical System [8]. LSUHS is among eight strategically located pilot sites in the U.S. and one of two in the southern U.S [8].

MBA, FACHE. Over 25 years of experience as a healthcare CEO, including leading Lafayette General Health System (now Ochsner Lafayette General) from 2008 to 2020. Served as interim CEO of Ochsner LSU Health in 2021-2022 and since November 2024. Formed Callecod Advisory Group in 2022. Has lived in Shreveport for nearly four years and is involved in local organizations, including being a Past Chairman of the Louisiana Hospital Association and a member of the Shreveport-Bossier Committee of One Hundred, Rotary Club of Shreveport, and First Methodist Church of Shreveport.
