A lawsuit was filed on May 29, 2024, against Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Kessler Women's Healthcare, an obstetrician/gynecologist, and unnamed nurses, alleging negligence in the death of a newborn in April 2024. According to the lawsuit, the infant died one day after birth from internal brain bleeding sustained during a vacuum-assisted vaginal delivery. The family claims a Cesarean section should have been performed earlier due to risk factors including the baby's abnormal heart rate, the mother's preeclampsia and fever during labor, and the baby's large head size and weight. The lawsuit faults the medical team for allegedly failing to recognize the baby's distress and advocate for an expedited delivery. Methodist Health System has stated its longstanding policy is not to comment on pending litigation. [13]

Shimadzu Medical Systems USA (SMS) has finalized an integrated delivery network (IDN) purchase agreement with Methodist Health System in Texas. This agreement covers the provision of radiography and radiography/fluoroscopy (R/F) systems to numerous facilities within the Methodist IDN. The scope of the agreement includes mobile x-ray systems, radiography rooms, R/F systems, and digital radiography (DR) upgrades. The listed facilities covered by this agreement include Methodist Charlton Medical Center, Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, Methodist Midlothian Medical Center, Methodist Richardson Medical Center, Methodist Southlake Medical Center, and the Methodist Richardson Medical Center Campus for Continuing Care, as well as two community outreach clinics.
