Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center is undertaking several significant transformative projects at its Texas Medical Center and McNair campuses. According to a news release from January 6, 2025, the McNair Campus relaunched its 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation services in January and expanded patient capacity. Concurrently, construction began in January on the Texas Medical Center building for a $25 million renovation project. This project aims to redesign the hospital's main lobby to include a valet area, a more spacious layout with updated flooring, furniture, lighting, and signage, along with a new reception desk and visitor kiosk. Additionally, the renovation will upgrade the cafeteria to feature a full-service Starbucks and increased seating options, and three nursing units will also see improvements. The overall renovation is expected to take approximately four years to complete, with Phase 1 slated for completion in October 2026. The expansion at the McNair campus also involves the relocation of two floors of surgical care from the Texas Medical Center campus to enhance patient experience and care delivery, although care will continue at the TMC campus as part of a two-campus strategy.
