Infirmary Health has commenced construction on a new 95,000-square-foot facility located in Daphne, Alabama. This new development is planned to function as an ambulatory surgery center and a medical office building. The two-story structure will be situated on Highway 90 within a 60-acre parcel of land that currently hosts a diagnostic and medical center and a freestanding emergency room. The facility is designed to accommodate six operating rooms, an imaging center, a linear accelerator, ultrasound facilities, and a dedicated cancer center. This new building is intended to replace the operations currently carried out at Thomas Medical Center on Highway 98. According to Mark Nix, President and CEO of Infirmary Health, the physicians currently practicing at Thomas Medical Center will relocate to the new facility or one of Infirmary Health's other locations.
