Executive Leadership

Brian Erling, MD, MBA

President & CEO

Dr. Brian Erling stepped into his role as president and CEO of Renown Health two years ago, infusing a people-first approach into the organization's mission, vision and values. He also implemented a new strategic plan to serve 1 million patients, led a restructuring initiative for more efficient operations, and set organizational benchmarks for top quartile performance in quality, finance, strategy, growth, and people. Dr. Erling also reinvested in the community via an affiliation with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine to build Nevada's first nonprofit academic health system. Prior, Dr. Erling held leadership positions at Centura Health, including CMO, senior vice president and chief clinical officer. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services. An emergency medicine physician by training, he also previously served as president of the Alliance Group and was a founding partner of an independent emergency medicine group. [6]

Anna Loomis, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Loomis oversees all aspects of financial management for Renown Health including budgeting, financial planning, revenue cycle management, supply chain and strategic investments. With over 20 years in finance leadership and strategy, Ms. Loomis is leading several transformative efforts to strengthen the organization and build partnerships. [7]

Charles Podesta

Chief Information Officer

Charles (Chuck) Podesta is the Chief Information Officer at Renown Health. He is a seasoned executive with over 37 years of experience in information technology, with 26 of those years as a Chief Information Officer in healthcare organizations. Prior to joining Renown Health in July 2021, Podesta served as Interim Chief Information Officer for UCONN Health's John Dempsey Medical Center, School of Medicine and Clinical Research IT. His extensive background includes CIO roles at various healthcare systems across the country, such as UCI Health/UC Irvine School of Medicine and the University of California Health System, University of Vermont Health Network/Fletcher Allen Health, Steward Health/Caritas Christi Healthcare, Berkshire Health, Baystate Health, and UMASS Medical Center. Podesta specializes in developing and implementing strategic technology plans, optimizing electronic medical records systems, streamlining governance, and aligning IT with medical informatics needs. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and an active member of professional organizations including CHIME, HIMSS, and the Society for Information Management (SIM). He is also an avid marathon runner for various charities.

Justin Coran

Chief Analytics Officer

Justin Coran is the Chief Analytics Officer at Renown Health, having joined the organization in 2023. He is an executive, data scientist, and applied medical sociologist with over two decades of experience in healthcare reporting systems, advanced analytic product development, and healthcare quality. In his role at Renown Health, he is responsible for the strategy and vision for data engineering, data analytics, and data science, leading a team of nearly 60 professionals. His work includes developing healthcare models, managing data infrastructure, and overseeing AI/ML applications. Before his time at Renown Health, Coran served as the Chief Data Science and Analytics Officer at NOMS Healthcare and held various roles, including Manager and Sr. Data Scientist, at University Hospitals, where he helped establish the data science department. He earned a Doctoral degree in medical sociology and a Master of Public Health degree in hospital administration and epidemiology from the University of Florida. He also holds an adjunct professor position at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Coran has been recognized nationally as a leader in data science.

Sandeep Randhawa, MS

Chief People Officer

Mr. Randhawa leads the Human Resources function and continues to develop the purpose-driven culture that supports the personal needs and well-being of Renown's more than 7,000 exceptional physicians and associates. He oversees talent management programs focused on hiring, training, and managing the performance of the workforce. Mr. Randhawa comes to Renown Health from CommonSpirit Health where he served as System Vice President for Human Resources Transformation and Integration, and as Southwest Division Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to that, he served as Vice President, Human Resources for Dignity Health. [8]
