Alastair Bell, MD, MBA, is the President & CEO of BMC Health System. Prior to this role, he served as the interim CEO and President of BMC Health System. Dr. Bell joined Boston Medical Center (BMC) in 2012, initially as Chief Operating Officer. Before his tenure at BMC, Dr. Bell was a leader in the North American Payor and Provider Practice at McKinsey and Company, where he advised healthcare organizations globally and led large-scale transformation programs. He also worked with McKinsey on developing BMC's strategic plan before joining the hospital. Academically, Dr. Bell holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oxford in England and a Master of Arts in physiology from the University of Cambridge in England. He also earned a Master of Business Administration with distinction from Harvard Business School. Before pursuing medicine, he worked as an English teacher in Tanzania. He is Scottish and completed house officer training in Glasgow. At BMC, he played a key role in addressing financial challenges and improving hospital operations, contributing to a significant financial turnaround. He also helped lead the hospital's strategy and operations during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been involved in expanding the WellSense Health Plan and creating Clearway Health. Dr. Bell serves as the co-chair of the board for the Boston Children's Chorus and vice chair of the board for Boston Medflight.
Dr. Anthony Hollenberg is the President of Boston Medical Center (BMC) at BMC Health System. He is a nationally recognized physician-scientist specializing in endocrinology. Dr. Hollenberg received his bachelor's degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from the University of Calgary. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Resident. He then completed a clinical and research fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Massachusetts General Hospital. Before being named President of BMC, Dr. Hollenberg was the Physician-in-Chief at BMC and the John Wade Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, a position he assumed in 2022. Prior to that, he served as the Chair of the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and Physician-in-Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He also previously held the position of Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and was a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His clinical work and research have focused on thyroid disorders, particularly the mechanisms by which thyroid hormones regulate metabolism, including body weight, and thyroid gland development. He has authored over 100 original studies and contributed to numerous book chapters and reviews.
Heather Thiltgen, MBA, is the President of WellSense Health Plan at BMC Health System. She oversees the strategy and operations of WellSense, a non-profit health insurance company offering Medicare, Individual and Family, and Medicaid plans in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. WellSense has grown under her leadership to serve over 700,000 members and contributes significantly to BMCHS revenue. Prior to joining in 2020, Thiltgen held senior leadership positions at Medical Mutual of Ohio, where she was Senior Vice President of Strategic Markets and launched their Medicare Advantage program. She also held leadership roles at CUNA Mutual Group and USAA, and began her career at the M/A/R/C® Group. Thiltgen holds a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Arts in government and economics from the University of Texas at Austin. She serves on the boards of the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) and Storable, and is vice chair of the Massachusetts Association Health Plans. She was recognized as a "Women Worth Watching" in 2013 while at Medical Mutual of Ohio.
Nicole Faucher, MS, is the President of Clearway Health, a specialty pharmacy services company that partners with hospitals and health systems. She has over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, including direct patient care, operations, and healthcare IT. Her experience also encompasses serving hospitals and health systems through strategic planning, financial performance, business development, and growth. Since joining Clearway Health in 2021, Faucher has been responsible for the company's strategy, maturation, financial performance, technology delivery, operations, market expansion, and client development. She provides day-to-day leadership for the executive team. Clearway Health, born out of Boston Medical Center (BMC), aims to improve specialty medication access, patient outcomes, health equity, and revenue potential for health systems. Before her role at Clearway Health, Faucher held leadership positions at Allscripts, MedQuest Associates, and HealthScreen America. She earned her Master of Science from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech.
Ankur Agrawal, MBA, provides leadership and financial oversight for BMCHS so we can provide the best care and support for our patients, members, and the communities that we serve. Prior to joining in 2024, Agrawal served as a partner at McKinsey & Company. He received his Master of Business Administration from Harvard University and his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from IRIM&EE.
David Beck, JD, MPP, is the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel at Boston Medical Center (BMC) Health System, where he has been since 2007. In this role, he is responsible for the health system's legal matters, corporate compliance, and captive insurance company. He also manages non-clinical relationships with the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Before joining BMC, Beck served as the deputy chief of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Public Protection Bureau, starting in 1999. During his time there, he was responsible for the oversight of public charities, including most hospitals in Massachusetts, and helped establish the office's Health Care Division as healthcare reform efforts progressed in the state. He holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics & Russian from Vanderbilt University. Beck was appointed Deputy General Counsel at BMC in 2007 and was promoted to Vice President and General Counsel in 2011.
Robert Biggio is the SVP, Chief Sustainability & Real Estate Officer at BMC Health System. He has been with BMC since 2011, having previously served as the senior VP of facilities and support services. In his current role, he is responsible for sustainability initiatives, major capital projects, facilities, supply chain, real estate, and design/construction, with a focus on advancing BMC's leadership in green healthcare and operational efficiency. Prior to his time at BMC, Biggio held executive positions at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Hallmark Health System. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marine engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Biggio has played a key role in BMC's sustainability achievements, including overseeing significant campus modernization projects, implementing a large-scale solar power purchase agreement, and championing the creation of a net-zero inpatient behavioral health hospital. His efforts have contributed to BMC receiving multiple sustainability awards, such as the Norman B. Leventhal Environment Award for Excellence in City Building and the Energy Project of the Year Award from the National Association of Energy Engineers. Additionally, he is a board member at Oakwell, a firm specializing in sustainability management and real estate optimization.
Joy Brown, BMC Health System Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Information Officer, joined us in February and is leading the strategy for improving our health system's operations through technology while developing and enhancing our digital health capabilities that improve healthcare access and the digital experience for our patients.

Rachel Felix, MBA is the SVP, Chief Marketing & Growth Officer at BMC Health System. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing marketing, development, and community engagement to strengthen relationships with all audiences and advance the organization's mission. She joined BMC Health System in 2022. Prior to her time at BMC Health System, Felix served as vice president and head of brand management at Mass General Brigham. She also held the position of senior vice president of partner marketing at Paramount (formerly ViacomCBS). Her early career included various roles in brand management and sales at Kraft Foods and Procter & Gamble. Felix holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. She currently serves on the boards of the New Commonwealth Fund, Women's Lunch Place, and PRX. Felix was recognized with the 2025 Pinnacle Award for Achievement in Health Care by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.
Lisa Kelly-Croswell, MA, is the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Boston Medical Center Health System (BMCHS), where she has been since 2013. In this role, she oversees all HR functions for BMCHS, as well as the Volunteer Services Department and Occupational Health Clinic. She has over 30 years of global HR leadership experience. Prior to joining BMC, Ms. Kelly-Croswell held various HR leadership positions, including Senior Vice President, HR and Corporate Services at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where she worked for seven years. She was also Senior Vice President, HR for Healthcare and Service Operations at CIGNA and Vice President of Human Resources at Nitromed, Inc. Early in her career, she held progressive HR roles at the Monsanto Company and Frito-Lay, Inc., a division of PepsiCo, including an expatriate assignment in Singapore leading HR for Southeast Asia. Ms. Kelly-Croswell holds a B.S. in Finance and an M.A. in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has served on multiple non-profit boards and is currently a board member for the Mary Christie Foundation, Eiger Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., and Synlogic Therapeutics. She was also a recipient of the Hartford Business Journal's "Top 40 Under 40" Award.
