Letkeman holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from the University of Manitoba, Canada. He has served on boards for organizations such as The Immunization Project (TIP) and the Wisconsin Statewide Health Information Network (WISHIN). Carole Hackett is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Houston Methodist. Cathy Easter is the President and CEO of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services and Senior Vice President of Community Development. She has been with Houston Methodist for over 20 years, holding responsibilities in operational areas, corporate strategy, and business development. Her key roles include establishing global strategy, leading international consulting and management projects, and overseeing international patient services, education, global brand, and business development. Easter was instrumental in expanding Houston Methodist Global's presence through consulting and management services, establishing offices in Dubai and Riyadh, and a presence in Guatemala City, Tegucigalpa, and Guayaquil. Before her role in Global Health Care Services, she served as Vice President of Operations & Business Development for Houston Methodist Hospital, where she led the development of a large outpatient center and spearheaded a patient-centered concept called "The Methodist Experience." She is also involved in community engagement, playing a fundamental role in establishing Houston Methodist's Community Benefits Program. In 2004, she was recognized as an "Up and Comer" by Modern Healthcare Magazine. Dr. Shlomit Schaal is the Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive at Houston Methodist, as well as the President and CEO of the Houston Methodist Physician Organization. She is also a Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute and a Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell College of Medicine. Prior to her roles at Houston Methodist, Dr. Schaal served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at UMass Memorial Health, President of UMass Memorial Medical Group, and Senior Associate Dean for Health Strategies at UMass Chan Medical School. An accomplished ophthalmologist, retinal surgeon, researcher, and executive, Dr. Schaal specializes in vitreo-retinal disease and surgery. She earned her undergraduate, medical, and doctoral degrees from Technion Institute of Technology in Israel. She completed an ophthalmology residency at Rambam Medical Center in Israel and fellowships in vitreoretinal research and vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Louisville. She also holds a Master's in Health Care Management from Harvard. Dr. Schaal is recognized for her leadership in clinical care, education, and the development of future healthcare professionals. She has published extensively and holds several U.S. patents. Her contributions to ophthalmology have been recognized with numerous awards, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, the American Society of Retina Specialists Senior Honor Award, and the American Medical Association Inspirational Physician Award. She is also a faculty member at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
