Recent News

Apr 17, 2025
Vitruvian Health, formerly known as Hamilton Health Care System, is under investigation by multiple law firms following a data breach that potentially exposed the sensitive personal and protected health information of over 88,000 individuals. The incident originated with a third-party collection agency, Nationwide Recovery Service (NRS), that serves Vitruvian Health affiliates, including Hamilton Emergency Medical Services, Hamilton Physician Group, Hamilton Medical Center, and Anna Shaw Children's Institute. According to reports, unusual cybersecurity activity was detected on NRS systems on July 11, 2024. A subsequent investigation confirmed that an unauthorized third party accessed and potentially acquired sensitive information from the NRS systems between July 5 and July 11, 2024. Vitruvian Health was notified by NRS about the incident on February 24, 2025, and began sending out data breach notification letters to impacted individuals around April 14, 2025. The compromised data may include names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, and medical information. Vitruvian Health has stated that its own internal network was not affected and the incident was limited to the NRS systems. NRS has reportedly implemented additional data security safeguards and reviewed existing policies in response to the breach. Affected individuals are being offered complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services. Notifications have also been provided to law enforcement and credit monitoring bureaus.
