Dr. Cacchione joined as the organization's new CEO, effective September 6, 2022. Dr. Cacchione comes from Ascension, where he served as an integral leader since 2017. Most recently, Dr. Cacchione served as Executive Vice President, Clinical and Network Services (CNS) for Ascension. Before his current role, he served as CEO of Ascension Michigan. Kathleen Kinslow, CRNA, EdD, MBA, is the EVP & Chief Integration Officer at Jefferson Health. She was appointed to this role in July 2016, while also serving as Chief Executive Officer of Aria-Jefferson Health. Kinslow joined Aria Health in November 2010 as President and CEO. Prior to her time at Aria, she served as CEO and Executive Director of Pennsylvania Hospital, which is part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Her tenure at Pennsylvania Hospital began in 1992 as the Director of the School of Nurse Anesthesia, and she subsequently held management and leadership positions including Vice President of Clinical Services/Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer before becoming CEO and Executive Director. A Philadelphia native with over 35 years of experience in healthcare, Kinslow began her career in nursing and is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). She holds a bachelor's degree in education from Ottawa University, a master's degree in education and an MBA from St. Joseph's University, a master's degree in nursing from Temple University, and a doctorate in education from Widener University. Kinslow was honored as one of the Top Fifty Business Women in Pennsylvania in 2009 and has been active in various healthcare and nursing organizations.
Edmund Pribitkin is the Executive Vice President of Jefferson Health and President of the Jefferson Medical Group at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. He also holds the position of Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Pribitkin's educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business. With over three decades of experience in medicine and leadership, he is a recognized expert and widely published researcher in the field of otolaryngology, specializing in thyroid, parathyroid, and rhinoplasty surgery. He has been consistently named a "Top Doc" by Philadelphia magazine and "America's Top Docs" by Castle Connolly. Throughout his career, Dr. Pribitkin has been involved in innovative patient care, including pioneering laser surgery techniques and co-founding the Jefferson Thyroid and Parathyroid Center. His experience encompasses roles as Chief Medical Officer and various significant surgical positions. Additionally, he serves on the board of Wilmington University.
Jeffrey Stevens is the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, having joined in the fall of 2015. He possesses over 20 years of experience in human resources. In his role at Jefferson, he concentrates on strategic HR initiatives, including the integration of benefits, cultures, and talent management practices following institutional mergers. He is also instrumental in developing and integrating the organization's mission, vision, and values, with a strong focus on employee engagement, satisfaction, diversity, and inclusion. Before his tenure at Jefferson, Stevens served as the Chief Human Resources Officer at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), where he managed HR for a system of three hospitals employing over 18,000 individuals. His accomplishments at URMC include establishing a highly-rated HR business partner model, implementing a talent management system, and redesigning benefits. He has also held leadership positions at University of Massachusetts Memorial Healthcare and Northern Berkshire Healthcare. Stevens holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Clark University and an MS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and Baruch College.
Cristina G. Cavalieri serves as the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Risk Affairs, and Chief Legal Officer at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from The College of New Jersey. Before joining Jefferson, Cavalieri was a practicing attorney for over 25 years, specializing in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, capital finance, securities, governance, and governmental relations, with an emphasis on the healthcare and academic sectors. She was a partner and management executive at Pelino & Lentz, P.C. (now part of Archer & Greiner, P.C.), where she developed and managed the firm's interdisciplinary healthcare department. She also served on the firm's executive committee and as co-chair of the compensation committee. In her role at Jefferson, Cavalieri is responsible for all legal and corporate issues and transactions, overseeing legal, regulatory, and risk departments, including compliance, internal audit, enterprise risk, conflicts of interest, clinical risk, professional liability matters, and workers' compensation. She advises on governance issues and manages legal transactions. Cavalieri has been recognized for her contributions, receiving The Judge Lisa A. Richette Outstanding Woman in Law Award and being named one of Pennsylvania's Most Powerful & Influential Women by Pennsylvania's Diversity Council. She also serves on several boards.
Kate FitzPatrick, DNP, RN, ACNP, FAAN, NEA-BC, is the Connelly Foundation Chief Nurse Executive Officer and Executive Vice President at Jefferson Health, a position she assumed on January 1, 2021. She also holds roles as a Professor and Associate Dean for Nursing Academic Partnerships at Thomas Jefferson University. Prior to her current role, Dr. FitzPatrick served as Jefferson Health's Senior Vice President for Nursing Practice and Clinical Development, where she contributed to the development of a system-wide strategic plan for nursing practice standardization and co-led the implementation of quality and safety initiatives. She also played a crucial leadership role in Jefferson Health's COVID-19 response. Before joining Jefferson Health in 2019, Dr. FitzPatrick was the Senior VP/Chief Nursing Officer at the University of Vermont Medical Center, also serving as Associate Dean, Academic & Practice Integration at the UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Her career also includes 18 years at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she held leadership positions in Trauma & Surgical Critical Care and as the key nursing leader for Women's Health and Neuroscience Service Lines. Earlier in her career, she was the State Trauma System Coordinator for the Delaware Public Health Division. Dr. FitzPatrick is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and has completed the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellowship. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Widener University, a post-masters as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware. She is also an appraiser for the Magnet Recognition Program of the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Patricia C. Henwood is the Chief Clinical Officer, Executive Vice President, and James D and Mary Jo Danella Chief Quality Officer at Jefferson Health, as well as an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University. She earned her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, her medical degree from Jefferson's Sidney Kimmel Medical College, completed her residency at the Harvard-Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound with a focus on global health at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Prior to joining Jefferson Health in 2019, she held faculty and clinical leadership positions at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Henwood leads Jefferson Health's OnPoint quality and safety program and her career has focused on improving care quality and building effective systems, with an emphasis on vulnerable populations and reducing health disparities both locally and globally. Her work includes leading Jefferson's COVID-19 response efforts and engaging in global health initiatives, such as point-of-care ultrasound education in resource-limited environments and involvement in humanitarian responses.
Stephen T. Smith is the Executive Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, where he oversees philanthropy and alumni relations programs. He joined Jefferson in 2002 as the vice president for development and now serves as chief advancement officer and executive vice president. Prior to his time at Jefferson, Smith held senior fundraising roles at two universities, including Columbia University and Villanova University, where he was instrumental in a $2 billion campaign and oversaw the major gifts program. He began his career in philanthropy at the United States Naval Academy and also held a position at the College of New Jersey and the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia. Under Smith's leadership, fundraising at Jefferson has significantly increased, from an average of $35 million per year to over $120-$150 million per year. He played a key role in integrating seven development departments into one centralized advancement office as Jefferson expanded. Smith was also instrumental in launching Jefferson's first comprehensive campaign, "Reimagine," which raised $1 billion. He manages a budget of approximately $20 million while generating substantial philanthropic revenue. Smith completed the Johns Hopkins' Philanthropy Institute program and holds a master's degree in education administration from Temple University. He relies on adaptability and authenticity as a leader and has received multiple fundraising awards. He has also presented at major national conferences.
