Southwest Healthcare Temecula Valley Hospital, part of the Southwest Healthcare system that includes facilities in Murrieta, has achieved a regional first in robotic lung cancer treatment. The hospital is the first in Southwest Riverside County to successfully diagnose and treat stage one lung cancer using a combination of robotic technologies: the Ion robotic-assisted bronchoscopy platform for early detection through minimally invasive biopsies and the da Vinci surgical system for treatment. This technology integration allows for earlier diagnosis and advanced treatment options for lung cancer patients in the region, as highlighted by a patient who benefited from the technology.

Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital in Murrieta earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. This grade for Spring 2024 is a national recognition for patient safety. Leapfrog assigns grades based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them. The CEO of SWH Rancho Springs Hospital and Inland Valley Hospital, Jared Giles, stated that this grade reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire team towards the highest quality of safety measures for their patients.
