Dr. Daniel Tamez

Executive Vice President

Dr. Daniel Tamez, FACHE, is an Executive Vice President at DHR Health with over 15 years of combined direct clinical services and healthcare leadership experience. He holds a Doctor of Science (Sc.D) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. Additionally, he completed a Postgraduate Degree PGY 1 in the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Program at Harvard Medical School and earned a Master of Public Health degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Texas A&M University. His educational background also includes a Master of Science in Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Spanish from The University of Texas-Pan American. Dr. Tamez's work experience includes roles as a Biosecurity and Environmental Health Research Specialist at Texas A&M University, a Physician Associate at Tavarez Medical Center, and an Internal Medicine/Geriatrics Physician Associate-Certified at WellMed Medical Management. He also worked as a Physician Associate at Norma Iglesias and Associates Day and Night Clinic and gained experience in Palliative/Hospice Medicine. Prior to his current role, he served as a Wound Care Consultant at Wound Management LLC and as Vice President of Clinical Medicine at DHR Health. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Physician Assistant Studies at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Dr. Tamez is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Board Certified Wound Specialist, and Board Certified in Palliative/Hospice Palliative Medicine. In 2020, he was appointed to the Texas Health and Human Service Executive Counsel in Healthcare Policy.

Lisa R. Trevino

Vice President Of Research And Development

Lisa R. Trevino, PhD, is the Vice President for Research and Development at DHR Health. She earned her doctorate in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and holds a Master of Science in Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Texas San Antonio. Dr. Trevino's scientific training and career include experience at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine. Her research has focused on the genetics and genomics of both adult and pediatric malignancies. Dr. Trevino joined DHR Health in 2014 and has been instrumental in establishing and expanding the research portfolio, which now includes over 215 ongoing projects across various medical fields. Her areas of expertise include cancer genetics, genomics, and pharmacogenomics. She is also passionate about community engagement in health literacy and increasing access to advanced clinical care. Prior to her role at DHR Health, she was a Project Manager/Staff Scientist at the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine from 2010 to 2014 and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at St Jude Children's Research Hospital from 2006 to 2009. Dr. Trevino is also a professional member of SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science) and has been involved since the early 1990s. She is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish.

Maritza R. Padilla

Maritza R. Padilla is the Vice President of Rehabilitation Services at DHR Health. Her work experience at DHR Health (formerly Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Health System) began in 2009 as an RN. She has held various roles including Director of Rehabilitation Nursing Services and Manager-Renaissance Orthopedic Program before assuming her current VP position. Nancy Garcia is the Chief Nursing Executive and Sr. Executive Vice President of Service Line Development at DHR Health.
