Geisinger has appointed Ilene Wolf Moore as the new Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer [9, 17]. Moore brings over 20 years of experience in healthcare and government roles, with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and complex litigation [9, 17]. She previously held the position of Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Envision Healthcare [9, 17]. Her responsibilities included legal strategy and operations across various healthcare delivery platforms [17]. Moore also held leadership roles at Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and DaVita Medical Group [17]. Terry Gilliland, M.D., Geisinger’s president and chief executive officer, stated that Ilene has a deep understanding of the complex business and legal aspects of healthcare [17].

LIFE Geisinger Kulpmont will hold an open house on May 21. LIFE Geisinger provides an alternative to nursing home care for people age 55 and older [5].

Geisinger officially broke ground on an $880 million expansion and modernization project at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville [3, 6, 8]. The project aims to improve patient experience by bringing more accessible care services and shortening wait times [3, 8]. The centerpiece is an 11-story tower with a larger emergency room, which will double the square footage and increase beds from 45 to 60 [3, 8]. The project will transition the hospital to 100% private rooms for adult medical-surgical units [3, 6, 8]. Updated operating suites and intensive care units are also included [3, 8]. A new multi-level parking garage will provide convenient access [3, 8]. The tower is expected to be completed by 2029 [3].

A Geisinger pharmacy program, the Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Medication Therapy Disease Management Program (MTDM), received the Innovative and Collaborative Practice Award from the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists [5]. The award recognizes innovative programs positively impacting patient care [5]. The MTDM team was recognized for implementing a remote patient monitoring program as a pharmacist-nephrologist collaborative model [5]. This program aimed to improve blood pressure control for patients with kidney disease, decreasing blood pressure values and reducing hospitalization [5]. The program, implemented in 2022, provided more opportunities for pharmacists to impact patient health in central and northeast Pennsylvania [5].

Became President of Geisinger Health in March 2024 and is the next chief executive officer, succeeding Jaewon Ryu. [5] Formerly served as executive vice president and chief medical officer for Geisinger. [4] Earlier in his career, worked as a general surgeon for Kaiser Permanente and held leadership roles at the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group and the Colorado Permanente Medical Group. [5]

Megan Brosious

[3] Served most recently as the chief administrative officer of Geisinger's Central Region, overseeing the operations and the leadership of Geisinger Medical Center, Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital and Geisinger Healthplex Woodbine. Karen Murphy

[3] She previously led the Steele Institute for Health Innovation at Geisinger, serving as its founding director, and oversaw Geisinger's government relations. [3] Her other previous administrative leadership roles include president and chief executive officer of the Moses Taylor Health Care System. [3]
