Shane Strum

Interim Chief Executive Officer

Shane Strum serves as the Interim Chief Executive Officer at Memorial Healthcare System (FL) and also holds the position of President and CEO of Broward Health, a role he has held since March 2021. He assumed the interim CEO role at Memorial Healthcare System in September 2023 (or Fall 2024, according to one source), managing both systems concurrently. Prior to leading Broward Health, Strum was Chief of Staff for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis from November 2018 until March 2021. In this role, he was involved in implementing the state's budget, overseeing state agencies, and coordinating the state's COVID-19 response. Strum has a significant history with Memorial Healthcare System, having previously served as Senior Vice President. During his earlier tenure, he was part of the executive team and was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, community relations, and global health functions. Before that, he served on the South Broward Hospital District Board, including two terms as chairman. His background also includes experience in higher education, with roles as Vice Chancellor at Keiser University and Director of Corporate and Government Relations at Nova Southeastern University. Strum holds a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Alabama. Alan Whaley

Interim Chief Operating Officer

Alan Whaley serves as the Interim Chief Operating Officer at Memorial Healthcare System in Florida. Prior to this role, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Broward Health, joining in July 2022. Irfan Mirza

Interim Chief Financial Officer

Irfan Mirza serves as the Interim Chief Financial Officer at Memorial Healthcare System in Florida. He is also listed as the Vice President of Corporate Finance at the system. Kelley Morris is the President and CEO of the Memorial and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundations at Memorial Healthcare System (FL), assuming the role in September 2024. Joined Memorial Healthcare System in March 2021. In his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Napp oversees quality and safety programs and provides oversight and leadership for all medical staff and clinical areas. Prior to joining Memorial, Dr. Napp was deputy chief medical officer at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, where he also served as leader of Mount Sinai's emergency management program, including its COVID-19 response. Saima Chaudhry, MD, MSHS, FACP, serves as the Vice President Academic Affairs, Chief Academic Officer, and Designated Institutional Official at Memorial Healthcare System in Florida. She obtained her medical degree from New York University in 1996, followed by an internal medicine residency and fellowship at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), where she also earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Services Administration.
