A developer of Legacy Park states that Singing River Health System is continuing to oppose the proposed multi-use development. The legal battle persists despite a Chancery Court ruling in favor of the developers regarding a certificate of need appeals case in April. The developer, Dr. Sia Alaka, claims Singing River Health System is filing complaints, asserting that the developers are proceeding with construction activities that are not permitted while the case is still subject to appeal. Dr. Alaka views this as a personal attack intended to cause delays and is concerned that the ongoing dispute could lead to future complications, hindering healthcare development and economic progress. The Mississippi Department of Health has indicated that the case is currently navigating the appeals process. Singing River Health System has a 30-day window from the appeals hearing to file another appeal with the Mississippi Supreme Court.
