Community Healthcare System (CHCS) is expanding its behavioral health services through a new partnership with Integrated Health Services (IHC). As part of this collaboration, Amy Jones, LSCSW, will begin providing behavioral health services via telemedicine on Thursdays and Fridays starting in mid-September. This expansion aims to increase access to mental health resources for the community served by CHCS. Additionally, Community Healthcare System's Home Healthcare agency was recognized with a 2023 HHCAHPS Honors Elite Award. This award, presented by HEALTHCAREfirst, acknowledges agencies that demonstrate exceptional patient experience and high-quality care based on patient satisfaction survey results, placing Community Home Health among the top 25 agencies nationally to receive this honor. Powers Health, formerly Community Healthcare System, invested $3.2 million to renovate a medical-surgical unit (5 West) at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago. The project included the implementation of Philips IntelliVue technology, which enables continuous cardiac observation of patients through telemetry monitoring. In addition to the technology upgrade, the renovation encompassed patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, public restrooms, offices, the nutrition room, and the staff lounge. The unit also received new signs and furniture, such as patient recliners and staff task chairs. According to Leo Correa, St. Catherine Hospital CEO, the investment ensures that the technology and furnishings support the high quality of care provided by the staff, aiming for a better experience for both patients and staff. St. Catherine Hospital is one of four facilities within the Powers Health system and has served the East Chicago community since 1928. The hospital also recently received an 'A' grade for hospital safety from The Leapfrog Group. [23]

Community Healthcare System, headquartered in Munster, Indiana, announced it would be rebranding to Powers Health, effective July 1, 2024. The new name honors Donald Powers, who donated land and funding for the system's flagship Community Hospital in Munster. Mr. Powers was also a director and president of the Community Foundation, which became the Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana and is the parent company of the health system. While the system name is changing, Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart will retain their current hospital names. The Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point will be renamed Powers Health Rehabilitation Center, and Community Care Network will become Powers Health Medical Group. Other location-based or hospital-based health centers will change their names to Powers Health Outpatient Center. Powers Health will continue to provide access to specialty and advanced care in Northwest Indiana, including services related to cancer, heart, neuroscience, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and stroke. Community Healthcare System was recognized as a Best Place to Work in IT on Computerworld's annual report. The health system, based in Munster, was named among the top 50 large companies on the list, which is compiled based on a survey evaluating factors such as benefits, compensation, diversity, training, and retention for technology professionals. Industry experts review the rankings. Jesus Delgado, chief information officer and vice president of information technology for Community Healthcare System, expressed honor in being recognized among other great companies. He highlighted that the IT team is dedicated to enabling technology that enhances patient care and is proud of maintaining a secure, fully integrated digital ecosystem that optimizes care across the system. Community Healthcare System includes Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, the Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point, and Hartsfield Village in Munster. The hospitals within Community Healthcare System celebrated significant milestones, collectively marking nearly 200 years of service to Northwest Indiana. St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago celebrated 95 years, while St. Mary Medical Center and Community Hospital each marked 50 years. The system highlighted advancements at its facilities, including the implementation of advanced technology at St. Catherine Hospital such as the CyberKnife S7 for precise robotic radiation therapy and the SOZO Lymphedema Prevention Program for cancer survivors. St. Catherine Hospital also maintained its five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2022. The Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center, which opened in 2019, was recognized as a leading rehabilitation center, and the entire Community Healthcare System was named the No. 1 employer in Indiana by Forbes magazine in 2023.
