US Hospital ERP Market Share and Data Set
Behind the EMR, the ERP system is the second-largest and most critical application for operations in large hospitals and health systems. Using HealthLuminate's AI search tools and careful human review of the evidence, we identified ERP usage in 81% of U.S. short‑term acute hospitals.
Of the ERP solutions in use, Workday holds the largest market share—with over 1,400 hospitals—followed by Oracle, with more than 1,000. Below is a summary of our findings, including data on every hospital ERP vendor in the U.S.
Every hospital's ERP implementation leaves publicly available traces—press releases, employee login portals or job postings—that we aggregate to paint a clear picture of which solution is in place. Some health systems were harder to classify because they either run multiple platforms or are transitioning from one ERP to another, in which case we saw evidence of both. We also noted that most smaller, community hospitals use an ERP module provided by their HIS vendor.
