Primary Electronic Health Record System
Weill Cornell Medicine, including its General Surgery - Downtown location, utilizes a patient portal called "Connect". This portal is integrated with the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. Connect serves as a unified patient portal for Weill Cornell Medicine, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and Columbia University Irving Medical Center, providing patients with secure online access to aspects of their medical records and healthcare management tools. The transition to the integrated Epic EHR system and the Connect portal for these institutions was completed on February 1, 2020. Through the Connect portal, patients can manage appointments, communicate with their healthcare providers, access test results, request prescription refills, view and pay bills, and conduct video visits. This is similar to how Epic's widely known patient portal is branded and functions, such as MyChart.
