Southside Hospital, now known as South Shore University Hospital, is a 300-341 bed tertiary hospital located in Bay Shore, NY, serving the southwest region of Suffolk County. Primary Electronic Health Record System
Southside Hospital, which is part of Northwell Health, currently utilizes the FollowMyHealth patient portal. The patient portal vendor for FollowMyHealth is Veradigm, formerly known as Allscripts. Prior to their current transition, Northwell Health utilized Allscripts Sunrise in their hospitals and Allscripts Touchworks in their outpatient practices. Northwell Health has announced plans to transition to Epic as their new electronic health record (EHR) system, with the implementation commencing in 2025. Epic's patient portal is called MyChart. This indicates that while FollowMyHealth is currently in use, Northwell Health facilities, including Southside Hospital, will be transitioning to Epic and its associated MyChart portal in phases starting in 2025 as the Epic EHR system is rolled out across the health system.
