Primary Electronic Health Record System
Optum Medical Care utilizes MyChart as its patient portal, which is integrated with the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. Optum has transitioned to using Epic as their new EHR, and MyChart is the patient portal component of this system. Through the MyChart patient portal, Optum Medical Care patients can access a variety of features including scheduling appointments, requesting medication refills, reviewing test results, viewing upcoming appointments, and paying medical bills. Patients can sign up for MyChart via email invitation, in person at the clinic, or directly through the MyChart signup page. The MyChart system also allows patients to link their Optum MyChart account with existing MyChart accounts from other healthcare systems. Some Optum locations or former medical groups may have previously used different patient portals, such as those for HealthCare Partners or AppleCare Medical Group, or even AthenaHealth in some instances, but the current information indicates a transition to MyChart on the Epic platform. Optum also offers a mobile application for accessing the MyChart portal.
