NYC Health + Hospitals is the largest municipal public health system in the United United States, operating eleven acute care hospitals, five post-acute care facilities, and over 70 patient care locations of community and school-based health centers. [14] The system provides comprehensive health care services including preventive and primary care, behavioral health, substance use disorder, trauma, high-risk neonatal and obstetric care, and burn care. [15, 17] The system also includes a managed care plan (MetroPlus), an Accountable Care Organization, a Certified Home Health Agency, a Health Home, and Correctional Health Services. [14]
