Primary Electronic Health Record System
Northwell Health primarily utilizes the FollowMyHealth patient portal, which provides patients with online access to their personal health records and allows for communication with healthcare providers. FollowMyHealth is described as a cloud-based patient engagement platform designed to integrate with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Northwell Health has a long-standing partnership with Allscripts (now Veradigm) and uses Allscripts Sunrise as its EHR system in its hospitals and Allscripts Touchworks in its outpatient practices. The health system has been using Allscripts' EHR since 2009 and has extended its agreements for both Sunrise and Touchworks. Northwell Health and Allscripts also announced a collaboration to jointly develop a next-generation EHR platform. This strong relationship, including Northwell Holdings' investment alongside Veradigm in other ventures, further indicates that Allscripts/Veradigm is the primary EHR vendor for Northwell Health.
