About the Practice

The New York Proton Center is a state-of-the-art facility that specializes in proton therapy, a highly targeted form of radiation therapy for treating cancer. [7, 10] This advanced treatment aims to destroy cancerous cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue, which can lead to fewer side effects compared to traditional radiation. [7, 8, 11] As a collaborative effort between Memorial Sloan Kettering, Montefiore Health System, and Mount Sinai Health System, the center provides care for a wide range of cancers, including brain and spine tumors, breast, gastrointestinal cancers, head and neck tumors, lung and other thoracic cancers, lymphomas, prostate cancer, and sarcomas. [7, 8, 9] They are equipped to handle complex and recurrent tumors, as well as pediatric cancers. [7, 10]
