Methodology & Findings

The Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center (nbdiabetes.org) uses a patient portal called **Connect**. This patient portal is integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) system provided by **Epic**. Connect is the patient portal for Columbia University Irving Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and Weill Cornell Medicine, which all utilize Epic as their integrated EHR system. Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian adopted Epic and the Connect portal on February 1, 2020. The Epic system is also referred to as the ambulatory electronic health record for Columbia Doctors.
