Primary Electronic Health Record System
Mayo Clinic refers to their patient portal as "Patient Online Services" or the "Mayo Clinic Patient Portal". This portal allows patients in Arizona, and other Mayo Clinic locations, to manage aspects of their healthcare online, such as viewing medical records, scheduling appointments, and communicating with their care team. Mayo Clinic transitioned to a single, integrated electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle management system from Epic. This implementation, known as the "Plummer Project," was completed in phases across all Mayo Clinic locations, including the Arizona campuses in Phoenix and Scottsdale, where the Epic system went live on October 6, 2018. Before this transition, Mayo Clinic had been using multiple EHR systems, including those from General Electric and Cerner Corp. The move to Epic was a significant investment aimed at improving efficiency and providing a unified patient experience across all Mayo Clinic sites. Therefore, the patient portal used by Mayo Clinic Arizona is connected to the Epic EHR system.
