Electronic Health Record System

Epic

Primary Electronic Health Record System

Research Analysis
Methodology & Findings

The Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, as part of the broader Mayo Clinic system, utilizes Epic as its electronic health record (EHR) vendor. The patient portal used by Mayo Clinic is branded as "Patient Online Services". Mayo Clinic completed the implementation of Epic across all its locations in 2018, consolidating from multiple previous EHR systems. The "Patient Online Services" portal provides patients with access to their health information, the ability to message their care team, request prescription refills, and manage appointments, which are standard features of a patient portal powered by Epic's MyChart. Furthermore, a partnership between Epic and Mayo Clinic was established to integrate Mayo's health information directly into the MyChart platform, indicating that "Patient Online Services" is indeed Mayo Clinic's customized version of Epic's MyChart patient portal.
