Research Analysis
Methodology & Findings

Kindbody utilizes its own proprietary patient portal, which is integrated with their proprietary electronic medical record (EMR) system, referred to as KindEMR. This indicates that Kindbody does not use a widely known third-party patient portal vendor or a standard, off-the-shelf EHR system like Epic (which uses MyChart). Information from 2018 suggests that Kindbody initially acquired cloud-based EMR and billing products from IVFqc, owned by Althea Science, with the stated intention to rebrand and develop a proprietary, branded patient portal. More recent sources from 2023 and 2024 consistently describe Kindbody's technology, including the patient portal and EMR, as proprietary. The Kindbody patient portal allows patients easy access to medical records, scheduling, and communication with their care team.
