About the Practice

The Institute for Family Health is a not-for-profit, federally qualified health center (FQHC) network founded in 1983 dedicated to improving access to high quality, patient-centered primary health care targeted to the needs of medically underserved communities. It provides a wide range of services including primary medical care, behavioral health, dental care, and social work to patients of all ages, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. [16, 17] The network operates multiple locations across the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Mid-Hudson Valley in New York State, serving over 85,000 patients annually. [5, 16] The Institute is committed to eliminating racial disparities in health outcomes and utilizes innovative health information technology. [2, 16] They also operate family medicine residency programs and conduct research. [5, 16]
