Research Analysis
Methodology & Findings

Harlem Medical Associates PC, functioning as a clinical service provider at Harlem Hospital, utilizes the MyChart patient portal. This is tied to the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, which has been implemented across the NYC Health + Hospitals system, including Harlem Hospital. NYC Health + Hospitals completed the transition to the Epic EHR system, known as H2O (Health + Hospitals Online), across its facilities by March 2020. MyChart serves as the secure online portal for patients within this system to access their health information, communicate with their care teams, request prescription refills, and manage appointments. The implementation of Epic and the MyChart portal aimed to unify medical records and improve patient access to their health information across the NYC Health + Hospitals network.
