Research Analysis
Methodology & Findings

Cleveland Clinic utilizes MyChart as their patient portal, which is a product of Epic Systems. Epic Systems is also the vendor for Cleveland Clinic's electronic health record (EHR) system. MyChart provides patients with a secure online tool to manage various aspects of their healthcare. Through the MyChart portal or the MyClevelandClinic app, patients can access portions of their electronic medical record, view test results, message their physicians, schedule and manage appointments, and pay bills online. Cleveland Clinic has been an adopter of Epic's EHR system since as early as 1995, with a significant enterprise-wide upgrade of their Epic software starting in 2018. The MyPractice Community electronic health record system used in all Cleveland Clinic facilities is composed of integrated software modules created by Epic. Cleveland Clinic has also collaborated with Epic on developing tools, such as a home monitoring program.
