About the Practice

The Children's Village works in partnership with families to help society's most vulnerable children become educationally proficient, economically productive, and socially responsible members of their communities. [1] Their mission and impact are carried out through strategies including prevention of child and family separation, temporary care and treatment for youth who cannot remain with family, support for youth development and transition, and community investments like crisis response and housing development. [11] They provide services such as Foster/Adoption Services, Family Support (Prevention Programs), NYC Schools programs, Transformative Mentoring, Teen Outreach, and the Harlem Clemente Course for the Humanities. [1] The organization serves more than 21,000 youth and families annually, with a primary focus on keeping children and families together. [11]
