Research Analysis
Methodology & Findings

The Brooklyn Cancer Center utilizes the MyChart patient portal, which is a product of Epic Systems Corporation. The Brooklyn Hospital Center, in affiliation with which The Brooklyn Cancer Center operates, launched the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system in its ambulatory care network sites in 2018. This implementation included the MyChart patient portal, referred to as "MyChart @ Brooklyn Health" and "MyOneBrooklynHealth," to provide patients with online access to their health information. Through the MyChart portal, patients of The Brooklyn Cancer Center and One Brooklyn Health have access to features that allow them to communicate with their doctors, view test results, request prescription refills, and manage appointments online. The adoption of Epic and MyChart by The Brooklyn Hospital Center aimed to streamline services, improve patient care coordination, and provide patients with convenient digital access to their medical records.
