Research Analysis
Methodology & Findings

Arizona Chest & Sleep Medicine (acsm-clinic.org) is transitioning to using the Banner Health Patient Portal. This portal is branded as "Patient Account," and was formerly known as "MyBanner patient portal." Banner Health utilizes two primary Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems: Cerner and eClinicalWorks. Cerner is the EHR system used in Banner Health facilities, such as hospitals, while eClinicalWorks is a preferred platform for Banner Health Network providers, which include physician practices. The Banner Health Patient Account allows patients to access medical records from both office and hospital visits, indicating integration with their underlying EHR systems, Cerner and/or eClinicalWorks. Therefore, Arizona Chest & Sleep Medicine, upon completing their transition to Banner Health, will be using the Banner Health Patient Account as their patient portal, which is tied to either the Cerner or eClinicalWorks EHR system depending on how their practice is integrated into the Banner Health network.
