About the Practice

The Ackerman Institute for the Family, founded in 1960, is a premier institution for family therapy in the United States. It provides innovative couple and family therapy services through its on-site Clinic, which is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health. [4, 8, 10] The Institute specializes in using a systemic approach, the Ackerman Relational Approach, to help strengthen relationships and address a wide range of issues including school difficulties, marital problems, grief, learning disabilities, and chronic illness.
