Main directs the day-to-day operations and strategic development of the health system's second-largest hospital, Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, a 150-bed, acute care medical center with more than 650 employees. [2] Main was named to the post permanently in August 2016 after serving in the interim since January 2016. [2] Before that, Main was the hospital's Chief Nursing Officer, with oversight of all clinical operations, a position she held since December 2012. [2] She has served in a number of positions with increasing responsibility at GMC-Silvis, where she began her nursing career as an Obstetrics Unit nurse, served as a Maternal Child Supervisor, was Nurse Manager of the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Units and the Director of Nursing Operations. [2] Theresa has her Associates Degree in Nursing from Black Hawk Community College, Moline, Ill., and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill. [2] Main also holds masters degrees in Health Service Administration from the University of St. Francis, and in Nursing from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minn. [2] She is a member of the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders and the American Organization of Nurse Leaders, and serves on the Board of Directors of Renew Moline, Medic Ambulance and Mississippi Region Valley Blood Center. [2] Main and her husband, James, have two sons and live in rural Woodhull, Ill. [2]
