Jean M. Halpin

President

Jean M. Halpin was named president of OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in December 2024, succeeding Michael Lawson. [2, 3, 5] This is the latest step in her 33-year career with OhioHealth, which began in a role as an occupational therapist. [2, 5, 6] In her current role, she provides strategic and operational senior leadership for OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, OhioHealth Bone and Joint Center at Grant, other outpatient clinics, and Emergency Medical Services across the OhioHealth System. [2, 6] She championed the ongoing transformation of the Grant campus in downtown Columbus, known as the Grant 2028 Impact: Access to Care for All project. [2, 3] Other career highlights include the development of OhioHealth's outpatient division and serving as President of OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital during its integration into the OhioHealth system in 2014. [2, 3, 5, 6] Halpin also previously served as Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Grant Medical Center since 2022, where her leadership was integral throughout all areas of the hospital. [3, 5, 6] She earned her bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from The Ohio State University and her master of health science from the University of Indianapolis. [2] She was named one of the 15 Most Powerful and Influential Women of Ohio in 2014 by the National Diversity Council. [3, 5]

Joel Shaw, MD

Vice President, Clinical Affairs

Joel Shaw, MD, is the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. [11] He has over 24 years of experience in the medical field, specializing in family medicine and sports medicine. [11] Dr. Shaw has dedicated 16 years to Graduate Medical Education, focusing on developing future physicians through innovative educational tools and executive coaching.
